A person was found dead after a fire in a flat in Berlin-Reinickendorf. The fire service said a room in a basement apartment of a multi-family building caught fire on Saturday evening.
During the extinguishing work, crews found a lifeless person. An emergency doctor could only confirm that the person was dead. No one else was hurt.
Police are now investigating the cause of the fire and the death. An electrical emergency service cut the power in the affected flat and checked the electrical installation. Emmentaler Straße was partly closed while that work was carried out.
